After Rendy returned from New York last week, he rested in Taipei for a few days, then traveled to Shanghai for Road to the Shanghai Rolex Masters challenger, in preparation for the upcoming ATP tour events in Asia and to adjust the jet lag. The challenger tournament site is also the same site as Shanghai Masters. Rendy is the No. 1 seed this week. In the first round Singles, Rendy faced Cheong-Eui Kim of Korea.
Today's weather in Shanghai wasn't so stable and was sprinkling in the morning, but was dry enough to proceed with the match play. Rendy's match started at 11am, but the bad weather interrupted the match here and there. Luckily Rendy was able to close out the match quickly 6-2, 6-1. After the match ended, rain started pouring hard and all matches got cancelled. Rendy's match was the only match completed today. Rendy will get a day off tomorrow to rest.
