After losing his second round singles, Yen-Hsun Rendy Lu still has doubles event remaining at Delray Beach Open. Lu is partnering with legendary Leander Paes of India, a former world number one doubles player and an 8-time men's doubles and 10-time mixed doubles grand slam champion. Even at age 43, Paes is still in top shape and playing great tennis.
In the first round doubles, Lu and Paes defeat Americans Fratangelo and Fritz 7-6(7), 6-3. In the quarterfinals, Lu faced another legendary doubles team Bryan brothers, the winners of 16 grand slam doubles titles. Lu and Paes played well, and shocked top seeded Bryan brothers 7-6(4), 2-6, 10-7. It is the first time in Lu's career to beat the Bryan brothers, after losing to them three previous times with different partners.
Lu and Paes will next play against No.3 seed Treat Huey of Philippines and Max Mirny of Belarus in the semifinals.
