In the second round singles at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand, Yen-Hsun Rendy Lu faced #7 seed Steve Johnson of the United States. Johnson played a very good match and didn't give Lu too many opportunities. Rendy's serve was broken at 4-4 in the first set which turned out to be the only service break in the whole match. Both players held serves in the second set but unlike yesterday, Lu wasn't able to come from behind to win the tie-breaker. Lu lost the match 4-6, 6-7(4).
Lu will next travel to Melbourne to prepare for next week's Australian Open.
